Cataract Surgery

A Cataract is the clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye.  Most cataracts develop when aging or injury changes the tissue within one’s natural lens. Proteins and fibers begin to breakdown which causes the lens to become cloudy. This results in vision becoming blurry and can also cause more glare and difficulty seeing at night.  Cataracts can be surgically removed through an outpatient procedure that restores vision in nearly everyone.  Cataract eye surgery is considered one of the most successful surgical procedures in all of medicine and is generally very safe and effective.
The first step is a Cataract Evaluation at Lakewood Eye Center where the doctor will confirm the diagnosis and then schedule a testing appointment where your options, for your specific vision, will be reviewed.  Our surgery.  You will then meet with our surgery scheduler to secure your surgery appointment and answer any additional questions.
